A new charity single will be released on Wednesday, to remember the victims of the Grenfell Tower tragedy in Notting Hill.
The single, organised by Simon Cowell, will be a cover Bridge Over Troubled Water, and will feature a host of music stars including Emeli Sandé, Leona Lewis, Rita Ora, Stormzy and X Factor winner Louisa Johnson.
Celine Dion and Robbie Williams are also rumoured to have been involved in the recording.X Factor winner Louisa, told The Guardian:
“The amount of people that have actually agreed to it and gone out of their way to do it is incredible, especially how busy some of these people are. I feel honoured to be a part of it.”
The charity single will not just feature music stars; TV choir director Gareth Malone has pulled together a choir of around 300 people, made up of local choirs and residents, who will also sing on the track.
“Singing absolutely cannot fix anything, a record cannot fix anything, but we might be able to raise some money, we might be able to touch a few hearts,” Gareth Malone said.
It is hoped that the single will raise millions for the victims of the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower last week.
